Trailer Inspection Checklist Template

Audit
Check the trailer to ensure there is no damage to:
Hitch and Mechanism
Breakaway cable, check fraying or damage
Electric hitch, check damage to cable or corrosion to connector
Jockey wheel mechanism and wheel
Handbreak
Check spare tyre to ensure:
Inflated
Fixed correctly
Tread is legal
No visual damage to tyre
Check all of the below:
Reflectors
Tyres on trailer
Mud Flap
Lights- are they functioning correctly?
All moving parts, hinges, catches etc are all in good order
Weight
Are any loads fastened down securely
Is the weight places over the axel, with a slight nose weight
Is all load within the manufacturers specifications of the trailer, regarding safe loading
Any other comments
Please upload photos of the trailer before being used
