Managing director Tim Blasberg shares how the digital solution has helped them increase efficiency and improve quality assurance. As a technology-driven trade company in the renewable energy sector, dekarbo° was founded in October 2023. dekarbo° specializes in the installation and maintenance of heat pumps and was created as a joint venture between Soeffing Kälte Klima, a traditional trade company in the refrigeration and air conditioning sector, and LEG SE, an MDAX company and the second largest housing industry company in Germany.
With a current team of 14 employees, which is set to grow to 30-35 by the end of the year, dekarbo° has set itself the goal of driving forward the decarbonization of large housing stocks.
dekarbo° handles the planning, installation and maintenance of air-to-air heat pumps, which are particularly efficient and environmentally friendly. The joint venture coordinates the entire conversion of the heating systems, from training the installation teams in the company’s own academy to the final acceptance of the systems. By using modern technologies and digital solutions, dekarbo° ensures that the conversions are carried out quickly, efficiently and with minimal disruption for the tenants.
There are repetitive processes in every company, so Lumiform can be integrated into any company, especially because the system is incredibly self-explanatory.
Digital from the start
“Right from the start, our goal was to make our craft business completely digital and do without paper and pen,” explains Managing Director Tim Blasberg. “With Lumiform, we have found the perfect solution to make our processes efficient and flexible.”
The decision to use Lumiform was ultimately easy for the company, as the tool is not only user-friendly, but also offers a wide range of functions that dekarbo° urgently needed. “The role management and the ability to customize checklists and protocols were crucial for us,” adds Tim. Thanks to Lumiform, dekarbo° can design all processes efficiently and improve quality assurance, which is particularly important when installing and maintaining the heat pumps.
“We wanted a flexible system that could be quickly adapted to our needs,” he emphasizes. With Lumiform, they found exactly that: a modular system that makes it possible to manage various stakeholders in one system and optimize processes.
Implementation
The implementation of Lumiform at dekarbo° went smoothly and quickly. From the creation of protocols to the training of employees – everything was carefully planned and implemented. Above all, the Lumiform software helped to structure processes and increase efficiency.
The software’s intuitive user interface enabled the teams to familiarize themselves quickly without the need for extensive training. “The software practically opened up by itself,” reports Tim. Particularly helpful were Lumiform’s flexible customization options, which allowed dekarbo° to individually design checklists and protocols.

Introduction into the company
The introduction of Lumiform began with the creation of protocols by the super admins at dekarbo°. They were familiar with all internal processes and were able to adapt the checklists and protocols accordingly. The fitters and subcontractors were then trained at the dekarbo° Academy.
“The training was intensive but effective. Our teams were quickly able to use the new tools,” Tim reports happily. In addition, video training sessions were created for LEG employees to ensure that all stakeholders were on the same page.
First use cases
The first use cases of Lumiform at dekarbo° were diverse. First, academy tests were carried out to automatically transmit the training results to the academy managers.
Another important use case was the onboarding of tenants, where checklists and photo documentation were used to standardize the process: “The photo documentation before commissioning and the subsequent acceptance of the heat pumps were particularly helpful,” explains Tim. The reactive inspection protocol for LEG employees was also successfully implemented, further improving efficiency and quality assurance.
Results
The introduction of Lumiform at dekarbo° has brought impressive results and numerous benefits. By using checklists for eight to ten different processes, dekarbo° has seen many positive results: “The automation of test results and protocols has saved us a lot of time and made our quality assurance fully controllable through this systematic approach,” reports Tim.
dekarbo° plans to decarbonize 15,000 apartments with LEG Immobilien AG. The company also aims to offer its solution to external housing companies, with a total market potential of 5 million decentralized heating systems. “Lumiform helps us to automatically inform stakeholders and handle commissioning digitally,” explains Tim.

The training of employees and subcontractors also benefited from Lumiform. The intuitive user interface and flexible customization options made training and daily use easier. “Our teams on site and the subcontractors were quickly able to use the new tools and implement the processes efficiently,” Tim explains to us.
Overall, Lumiform has helped dekarbo° to drive forward the decarbonization of LEG Immobilien AG’s housing stock in an efficient and high-quality manner. Therefore, dekarbo° plans to further expand the use of Lumiform and continuously improve the existing protocols.
An important step here is the complete integration of Lumiform into the ERP system in order to minimize manual transfers and further increase efficiency: “We want to ensure that our processes run even faster and more smoothly,” explains Tim.
The company is also planning to increase the number of heat pumps installed and decarbonize more of its housing stock. With the ongoing optimization and adaptation of checklists and protocols, Lumiform will continue to play a central role in quality assurance and process optimization in the future.
