New Hive Inspection Checklist
Your first inspection should take place no sooner than a week after installation. Bees need time to settle, so do not disturb them. During that time you can casually observe the hive.
Are bees entering/exiting the hive?
Are there no more than a few dead bees outside?
When was hive installed?
Package, nuc or wild swarm?
Are there any signs of pest or disease?
