This is Le Burger

Le Burger is a popular restaurant chain specializing in handmade, high-quality burgers. With 18 locations in Austria, including 14 franchises, Le Burger delights its guests with fresh ingredients and innovative recipe creations. The chain places particular emphasis on quality and individuality, making each restaurant a unique culinary destination.

Lukas Teschmit is the Culinary Director at Le Burger and plays a central role in the company. He is responsible for kitchen planning, compliance with hygiene standards, and product development. He also takes care of supplier management, ordering, and cost accounting. Everything that happens back of house goes through him and his colleague Christian. “Our restaurant places a high value on quality and service, and we use system gastronomy tools, among other things, to ensure this standard,“ explains Lukas.

The challenge

“Before Lumiform, we used various inefficient methods such as Excel spreadsheets and individual cleaning plans,” recalls Lukas. These approaches led to a high administrative burden and a lack of transparency, which highlighted the need for optimized and standardized quality assurance.

During the global shutdown due to the COVID-19 crisis, Le Burger made a conscious decision to expand rapidly in order to position itself for the long term. However, this decision presented additional challenges, as existing processes were insufficient to efficiently manage the growing number of locations. As the business expanded, it became clear that a digital solution was needed to optimize operations and ensure consistent quality across all restaurants.

The solution

To overcome these challenges, Le Burger decided to implement Lumiform. “Setting up the software was extremely easy. Within an hour, we had understood all the basic functions and were able to get started immediately,” reports Lukas. With Lumiform, the previous paper-based and Excel-supported processes were replaced by a digital solution.

Lumiform is now used for internal audits, goods inspections, temperature reports and restaurant checks. “We use Lumiform in a wide range of areas. The software enables us to document all processes in an automated and transparent way,” he explains. The implementation went smoothly, and employees were able to be trained quickly. “The application is so simple that even employees with no IT skills can easily work with it,” Lukas adds.

Results and Benefits

By implementing Lumiform, Le Burger has quickly seen significant improvements. Moving from paper-based processes to a digital platform has made tracking and documentation much easier. “Before, it was a huge task to manually maintain and check all the lists,” Lukas recalls.

With Lumiform, all data can now be recorded and managed centrally, making daily work easier and increasing accuracy. “Now we can always ensure digitally that all locations meet the same high standards,” he reports.

It’s much easier for me administratively now. I can manage everything from one centralized list and control it from the convenience of anywhere.

Administrative Relief

Above all, the introduction of Lumiform has significantly reduced Le Burger’s administrative workload. Previously, various Excel spreadsheets and paper-based lists had to be maintained manually, which was time-consuming and prone to error.

“Administratively, it’s much easier for me now. I can manage everything from one central list and conveniently carry out the checks from anywhere,” explains Lukas. With Lumiform, all data can be recorded and managed centrally, making it easier to track and maintain standards.

As a result, tasks can be completed faster and the accuracy of the data has noticeably improved, which reduces errors and supports quality assurance. “The transparency and uniformity in our processes is a great benefit,” he adds.

Time saving

Another major advantage of Lumiform is the significant time saving. ‘We save time and resources because we no longer have to keep paper lists. Everything is now digital and efficient,’ reports Lukas.

With Lumiform, employees no longer have to manually fill out and compare lists, which reduces their daily workload. Instead, they can focus on their core tasks. “The site manager can also check from their home office whether all tasks have been completed, without having to be physically on site,” explains Lukas. This increase in efficiency has helped to improve productivity and streamline workflows.

Outlook

Le Burger plans to expand its use of Lumiform to optimize even more processes. One focus is on integrating action links. “I want to communicate actions directly to the responsible persons to simplify follow-up,” explains Lukas.

In addition, the onboarding process for new employees will be handled by Lumiform. “We plan to manage checklists and training digitally, to make it easier for new team members to get started,” reports Lukas.

In the long term, Le Burger also sees an opportunity to establish a growth system that gradually guides employees into higher positions. “With Lumiform, we can efficiently organize and document audits and training,” he adds. These plans are aimed at improving work processes in a targeted manner and ensuring that quality remains consistently high in every area.
