The interface is designed to match how inspections actually happen on-site, and clients have described it as self-explanatory, with minimal training required.

What kind of support does Lumiform offer during implementation?

Can supervisors and field technicians both submit reports?

Yes. Lumiform lets you assign forms to specific users or groups, which means supervisors and technicians can be set up to complete and submit inspection reports. When they submit a finding on-site, the relevant person gets notified immediately. This shifts reporting from a bottleneck into a distributed process, which is how you get near-miss data captured in real time rather than filtered through one person who is already stretched thin.

For shared devices, can access be based on technician role?

Lumiform supports user management with roles and groups, so it’s possible to configure access by role. Shared devices assigned by role, such as Technician 1 or Technician 2, can be set up within the administration section. This keeps the process simple for field workers sharing equipment. Your team can get into the form and start the inspection without unnecessary steps.

Is it still possible to complete inspections if mobile devices aren’t permitted on-site?

Lumiform runs on both mobile and desktop, so inspections can be completed on either. If a site restricts mobile devices entirely, a technician with access to a desktop or laptop can still conduct and submit the inspection through the web version.

Can non-compliant findings trigger prompts for photos and explanations right away?

Yes. You can configure conditional logic in Lumiform so that selecting “non-compliant” on any part immediately triggers a mandatory text field and a photo prompt. The technician enters what is wrong and attaches an image before moving on. This gives context to the finding rather than leaving a bare status flag in the report. You can also trigger actions or other forms based on that response, such as automatically creating a follow-up work order or notifying a supervisor. The customer receives a document that explains the issue and shows it visually, which makes your output more credible and actionable.

Does the form builder support conditional if-then logic?

Yes. Lumiform supports conditional logic in its form builder, which means you can configure questions to trigger follow-up fields, sub-checklists, or required inputs based on the answer selected. If you already have a mind map of if/then decision trees for your crane inspection workflow, you can use that as the blueprint for building your form.

Can reports include images and be shared as professional documents?

Yes, technicians can attach photos directly within the inspection form on the mobile app. Once submitted, Lumiform generates a PDF report from the completed form. That report can include your branding, the customer’s information captured at the start of the form, images of non-compliant parts, and findings with written explanations. The output is a formal document you send to the customer.

Can we put our logo and address on the printed report as a formal header?

Lumiform lets you customize how your final reports look, including adding your company logo, address, and a formal header. The report your customer receives reflects your brand. You can also configure the beginning of each form to capture the customer’s company name, point of contact, phone number, and email.

Is it possible to get notifications in advance of upcoming inspection deadlines?

Yes. Lumiform supports scheduled forms with automated notifications, so you can set a reminder to trigger at a certain time before a crane inspection is due. That gives your team time to contact the customer proactively and rebook before the inspection lapses. The notification goes internally, so the right person gets the alert without anyone having to manually track expiry dates across a spreadsheet or calendar.

Can we track and organize assets based on specific customer profiles?

Lumiform lets you create entities to organize objects and locations, which means you can group every hoist inspected for a given customer. Completed inspection reports are stored and filterable, so you are not clicking into individual entries to find what you need. For additional file storage, Lumiform integrates directly with Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, and SharePoint to keep your records accessible outside the platform as well.

Can we see trends across inspections without clicking into each report individually?

Yes. The Analytics section in Lumiform gives you an aggregated view of inspection results, including average scores and overdue inspections, without opening individual reports. You can filter by criteria to identify patterns across multiple crane inspections over time. This directly solves the problem of free-text reports where trend analysis is impossible. If the same issue appears across 40 sites or just one, the data shows it clearly rather than leaving you to read through every entry manually.
