The International Standardization Organisation (ISO) is a part of the Worlds Standards Cooperation (WSC). They develop and publish international standards. The International Standardization Organisation has developed 7 principles for Quality Management to assist you to meet their requirements and get their certification. However, your main goal should not only be that certification but also (mainly) your own product quality. So what should you focus on in order to get that?
The customers are your most important focus. They are the people buying your product, using your product and recommending it. Therefore, they are the ones who have to be satisfied with your products. Only then they will buy it again, only then they will recommend it to their friends and families. But they will only be satisfied if your product or service has an excellent quality.
As the head of the organisation, it is the leadership’s job to establish the organisation’s objects thoroughly in order to lead the departments and teams and to be successful. Due to that, they are the ones to develop a quality management system and to choose a responsive qualified person responsible for the QMS and its appliance.
Since the employees are mainly the people to actually produce the product or provide the service, they should be accurately informed of their task and in addition to that, they should have training whenever necessary. It is the leadership’s duty to provide the training and to decide whether an employee needs training or not.
The most efficient outcomes can be accomplished with the help of established processes. To be guided by a process can be helpful to have a better overview of what is going on and also to plan the procedures within the whole company. The leadership should announce a responsible person or a responsible team to organize the processes.
The world is constantly changing, so should you! Improvements are very important for companies. Your customers will always look for something better and if you don’t give them something better, another company will.
Making decisions can be really risky. Wrong choices can lead to immense consequences, they could destroy your company. On the contrary, the right choice can increase your company’s reputation, improve your products and their quality and make you more successful. Therefore, you should analyse your product, whether your customers/clients like it and what they would like you to improve. In accordance to that, you could analyse your numbers, analyse your customers buying behaviour or implement customer questionnaires.
An organisation and its management is not only influenced by their customers and leadership, but also by their interested parties, such as investors or suppliers. The organisation should work together with interested parties and have a common goal. They should communicate in a way that both parties know what is going on. In case of the supplier, for example, the supplier should know about the company’s quality standards and the supplier’s products should meet those standards.
